A Bit About Me
Who am I? That’s a great question!
Well, let me start with that: I’m the owner, travel writer, and content creator behind Kate’s Crossing Blog.
I’m a native Montanan who grew up and still lives in a small town with only one stop light with my husband, three dogs, and three horses.
I’ve been crossing the globe and conquering my ever-growing bucket list for six years, traveling to 23 countries and numerous states. I love planning epic trips just as much as I love going on them.
But my journey isn’t just about checking off destinations—it’s about finding purpose and joy through travel. After facing a major crossroads in my life, travel became my way to rediscover happiness, and now I’m here to help other women do the same.
I believe that no matter what stage of life you’re in, travel is transformative and there’s no better time than NOW to start crossing off your bucket list!
When I’m not crossing an adventure off my list or blogging about it, you’ll find me working as a nurse in the ER.
Through this blog, I want to:
➡️ Get you excited to live your list NOW and welcome the transformation that travel can bring.
➡️ Help you plan life-changing trips with a purpose.
➡️ Take the stress out of planning so you can focus on enjoying the journey, knowing you won’t miss out on anything.
my travel style
⭐ I travel on a modest budget, willing to pay a little extra for really special experiences.
⭐ I make an effort to spend my money in ways that support local economies
⭐ I do my best to research and respect cultural norms of wherever I’m visiting.
⭐ I don’t believe in gatekeeping info about destinations. I believe public lands and the outdoors are for everyone.
⭐ I’m a pack-it-all-in kind of traveler.
Trip Planning?
If you just don’t have the time to do the research or don’t even know where to start, let me create your custom itinerary instead!

Story Time: How I Became a Travel Blogger
For as long as I can remember, I followed the path everyone expected—college, a nursing career, marriage, and trying to have kids. (“trying” being the underlined word.)
I spent two decades trying to become a mother, pouring all my energy, hopes, and savings into making it happen. But after exhausting every option, including borrowing money from family, I was left broken, mentally, emotionally, and financially, asking myself, “What now?”
Motherhood had been my dream for so long, and when that door closed, I felt completely lost. I had to find something else—something that would bring me joy, purpose, and a new vision for my future.
That’s when I turned to my bucket list. What started as a way to fill the void quickly became my saving grace. My travel bucket list gave me something to look forward to, a reason to get excited again. It reignited my sense of purpose and helped me rediscover joy in ways I never expected.
Now, I want to share that same sense of transformation with other women who find themselves at a crossroads. I want to show you that travel can be your path to healing, purpose, and rediscovery.
If you’re ready to find your spark again, I’m here to help you start your journey. Let’s make unforgettable memories and create a life that feels full of purpose—together.
You’ll mostly see me around this site, but my husband (And travel buddy), Kris pops up from time to time.
