However, when it comes to building a snowman, the conditions need to be just right, with a wetter snowfall that’s perfect for shaping and molding. Keep an eye out for those days when the snow is sticky.

If the idea of flying downhill with sticks attached to your feet seems a little to scary for you, consider giving cross-country skiing a shot. If my 74-year-old mom can do it, so can you! It’s a peaceful experience, gliding down a snow-covered path at your own pace. Some of my favorite trails even allow me to bring along my furry friend for company.

If you don’t own XC skis, no worries. you can rent them first to test the waters before committing to a purchase.
