31 Christmas Gift Ideas for The Travel Lover in Your Life
Got a traveler on your list this year? I’ve pulled together some of my favorite gift ideas—things they’ll actually use (and be excited about) on their next trip.
Spruce Up Their Travel Wardrobe
Everyone needs a great travel day outfit—it’s honestly more important than what you pack in your bag, in my opinion. Especially on long-haul flights!
These are some of my all-time favorite travel outfit pieces—the ones I reach for every trip. They’re comfy, versatile, and hold up well!

1. Comfortable Travel Pants
These pants are my absolute favorite travel pants! I literally wear them on every flight and even when exploring.
They feel like pajamas but still look like I tried to look put together. Total game-changer—I never pack a bag without them.

2. Travel Tank Top
A simple tank might not seem exciting, but I love mine and wear it constantly when I’m traveling.
It’s lightweight, layers easily, and somehow works just as well for a long flight as it does under a cardigan at dinner. I have it in three different colors.
FYI: Be sure to size up on this one. I wear a size large in this tank top, even though I normally wear a size small in everything.

3. Lightweight Travel Cardigan
This cardigan has been with me through so many things. Planes, trains, chilly evenings—you name it.
It packs down small, doesn’t wrinkle much, and instantly makes me feel cozy without being bulky.

4. Cute Sneakers
I’ve learned the hard way that uncomfortable shoes can ruin a trip.
These adidas sneakers are my absolute favorites because they’re cute enough to wear with anything but comfortable enough to walk miles in. I’ve worn them exploring miles of cobblestone streets in Europe and never regretted packing them.
I own three different colors because I love them that much!
Upgrade Their Personal Item/Carry-on Bag
A good carry-on bag can make such a difference on travel days.
These are the ones I use and love—bags that actually fit under the seat, hold all the essentials and more, and keep things organized (even in the chaos of boarding).
If they’re still using an old tote or backpack, this is the upgrade they didn’t know they needed.

5. Tote Bag With Shoulder Straps
I’m obsessed with this tote/backpack! I’ve tried a LOT of personal item/carry-on bags over the years, and this one is, without a doubt, my fav.
I can carry it like a tote or wear it like a backpack. The sleeve that slips over my roller bag handle makes it so much easier to carry through the airport, and it has a padded pocket for my laptop.
Sleek, lightweight, just the right amount of pockets, and durable = 10/10.
👉 This tote bag/backpack is a Perfect gift for frequent travelers on the move.
6. Expandable Weekender Bag
I love this bag for quick getaways. It’s compact when you need it to be, but the expandable feature means I can squeeze in those “just in case” extras—or all the souvenirs I end up bringing home.
👉 This weekender bag is a perfect gift for casual travelers who take weekend getaways
7. Travel Backpack
Sometimes I just want to pack minimally and be totally hands-free, and that’s when this backpack comes out.
I love how it opens like a suitcase. It has the perfect amount of space for a week’s worth of clothes, lots of pockets for everything else, and is way more comfortable to carry.
👉 This travel backpack is the perfect gift for the minimalist traveler who is on the move.
Carry on Essentials They’ll Love
These are the things I always have in my carry-on—they make flying so much more comfortable and way less chaotic. If you’re looking for super practical gift ideas, you really can’t go wrong with any of these.

8. The Best Travel Neck Pillow
I’ve tried so many travel pillows over the years, and this one is the only one that actually works for me.
First, I hate having to carry a neck pillow everywhere on my trip. But with this one, it packs flat and fits easily in my personal item bag. I don’t have to hang it on the outside of my bag where it’ll collect airport germs!
Best of all, it’s really supportive and comfortable to wear. I can actually manage to sleep on planes, which says a lot.
9. Sleep Mask
A good sleep mask is one of those small things that really makes a big difference. And having a good one makes all the difference.
I love this one because it blocks out all light, cups my eyes with no pressure on my lashes, and doesn’t snag my hair at all!
Plus, the biggest reason I love it is that it’s machine washable, whereas every other eye mask I’ve tried is hand-wash only. Hand washing just doesn’t cut it for me!
This is the travel gift they didn’t know they needed!
10. Dreamsoft Travel Scarf
This scarf is hands down one of my favorite travel items. It’s lightweight but warm and super soft.
It doubles as a blanket on cold flights, and somehow still looks chic for an evening out. I’ve used it everywhere from long-haul flights to chilly café patios.
Must Have Travel Toiletries
Over the years, I’ve figured out which toiletries are actually worth packing and which ones just take up space.
These are my tried-and-true favorites that I bring on every trip. They all save space, reduce liquids, and actually work!

11. The Best Dry Shampoo Powder
Long travel days (and unpredictable shower access) make dry shampoo a total lifesaver—and this one is hands-down my favorite. It soaks up oil without leaving that weird chalky film or weighing my hair down.
I have fine hair, and this actually gives it a bit of volume, which I love! I can usually stretch 3–4 days between washes with this stuff. Bonus: it works just as well on dark hair as it does on blonde.
I use it on every trip—and honestly, even when I’m not traveling.
12. Brush on Tinted Sunscreen
This tinted sunscreen is a game-changer for travel. It’s super easy to reapply on the go—just swipe it on and you’re protected, even if you’re out exploring all day.
The tint gives just enough coverage for those no-makeup makeup days, which I love when I’m traveling. I usually pair it with my tinted moisturizer, and together they’ve pretty much replaced my foundation.
Bonus: since it’s a powder, it doesn’t count as a liquid for TSA. One less thing to worry about!
13. Solid Shampoo & Conditioner
I actually started using these earlier this year and haven’t gone back.
These are great for travel—no spills, no extra liquids in my bag, and they actually make my hair feel soft and clean.
Plus, they last way longer than I expected.

14. Heatless Hair Curler
This is one of my favorite travel hacks—I tell everyone about it! Just wrap your hair at night, and you wake up with soft, effortless waves in the morning.
It saves me so much time getting ready, and I don’t have to pack a curling iron, which means more room in my bag. If you’re wondering about sleeping with it in—it took me a couple of nights to get used to, but now I barely notice it.
Trust me, once you try it, this little tool will be your new favorite travel essential. I use it at home all the time, too!
15. Mini Folding Boar Bristles Brush
I keep this little brush in my bag at all times. It folds up nice and small (you know I’m all about saving space), but it still works great—even on my long hair.
I also like that it feels a little more luxe than a basic travel comb. The boar bristles are gentler and help keep my hair smooth and shiny, even after a long travel day.

16. The Absolute Best Toiletry Bag
I’ve tried so many “cute” toiletry bags over the years, but once I found this one, I stopped wasting money looking for the “perfect” one. It may not be the most fashionable, but it works great!
I love that it’s clear, so I can actually see what’s inside without digging. It holds a surprising amount, packs down small, and it hangs—which is a game-changer, especially in European hotels where counter space is basically nonexistent.
Perfect for the practical traveler who prefers function over fashion. And if they don’t, you’ll change their ways with this one.
Travel Tech Must Haves
I try not to overpack when it comes to tech, but there are a few gadgets I never travel without.

17. Foldable Neck Fan
I didn’t realize how much I love a neck fan until I tried it.
Perfect for hot airports, stuffy trains, or even exploring on a warm day. I even wore it hiking into a waterfall in Kauai, and everyone on the trail thought it was a genius idea!
It folds up small and slips right into my bag.

18. Universal Travel Adapter
This is the travel adapter I always use—and I’ve had it for over 8 years! It works in every country I’ve visited, and I fully trust it to safely charge my laptop, camera, and other important gear.
It’s not the smallest one out there, but it’s from a super reliable brand and charges faster and more safely than any of the cheap ones I’ve tried (and regretted).
If you’re bringing valuable electronics, don’t risk it with a sketchy adapter. Trust me—this one is 100% worth the tiny bit of extra space in your bag.

19. Multi-Use Charger Pack
I’m constantly charging something when I travel, and this pack keeps everything powered up without needing to pack a ton of separate cords.
I love how it’s small but packs a lot of power for multiple charges. Total lifesaver on long travel days.

20. Nano Phone Charger
This tiny charger is one of my and my husband’s most-used travel gadgets—it’s saved us more times than I can count.
It’s so small it fits in your pocket or the tiniest crossbody, but it still gives my phone just enough juice to get through the rest of the day. Perfect for when you’re out exploring, using maps, or snapping photos, and suddenly realize you’re at 2% battery (we’ve all been there).
Seriously, everyone needs one of these. It’s the kind of thing you don’t think about—until the moment you really, really need it.

21. Noise-Canceling Headphones
Okay, I’ll be honest—I wasn’t always a fan of over-ear headphones. I used to just bring my earbuds, but they’d start to hurt after a few hours, and I actually lost one between the airplane seats while I was sleeping. (My friend, who’s a flight attendant, says they find lost earbuds on almost every flight!)
So I finally decided to switch to these headphones, and I am so, so, so happy I did. My ears don’t hurt anymore, the noise cancelling is way better, and I can’t lose them.
These have made such a huge difference on my flights. I don’t travel without them anymore.
22. Tech Gear Bag
This is one of those travel items that seems impossible to get just right. I can’t tell you how many random pouches and cases I tried (and how much money I wasted) before finally finding this one.
Since getting this tech bag, I haven’t looked back. It fits all my cords, chargers, adapters—everything—in one place. There’s a pocket for everything, so I’m not untangling cables mid-flight, and it hardly takes up any space in my carry-on.
If you’re tired of digging through a tangled mess at the bottom of your bag, trust me—this is the tech bag you need.
Best Photography Travel Gear
You don’t need to be a pro to want great travel photos.
Whether you’re capturing sunsets, landscapes, or just your hotel breakfast (no shame!), having the right gear makes it way easier.
These are the tools I always pack to get great shots without weighing down my bag.

23. Cell Phone Tripod
This little tripod has been a game-changer for me. Especially my solo travels.
It’s lightweight, fits in my purse, has a Bluetooth remote, and is perfect for getting all my shots without having to ask a stranger.
Perfect solution for solo travelers who want great photos of themselves!
24. GoPro Waterproof Camera
I love using my GoPro on trips where I know I’ll be around water or doing something adventurous. It’s durable, waterproof, compact, and captures moments I’d never risk with my phone.
A must-have for the adventurous traveler.

25. Travel Camera
Sometimes a phone just doesn’t cut it, and that’s when I reach for my travel camera.
I love this camera for travel because it’s compact and lightweight but takes amazing photos, which makes it worth the extra space in my bag.
This is a great beginner camera, but it also works wonders for expert photographers, too.

26. DJI Osmo Pocket 3
This is my go-to camera for capturing video—and it takes surprisingly great photos too. It’s super small, super easy to use, and the built-in stabilization makes your footage look smooth, even if you’re walking on cobblestones or hiking a trail.
What I really love is that it syncs with your phone, so you can set it up and frame the perfect shot from a distance. It’s a total game-changer for solo travelers or anyone who doesn’t want to ask a stranger for help.
And if you need more convincing—this is the #1 camera I see other travelers using on the road. It’s definitely travel-tested and approved.
Miscellaneous Travel Treasures
These are the little travel goodies I’ve picked up over the years that ended up being total game-changers. They’re not flashy, but they make life on the road so much easier—and honestly, I use them all the time.
If you’re looking for small but super thoughtful gift ideas for the traveler in your life, this section is gold. These are the kinds of things people don’t usually think to buy for themselves, but once they have them, they won’t want to travel without them.
27. Mini White Noise Sound Machine
I didn’t realize how much I’d rely on this until I packed one. It blocks out hotel hallway noise, street sounds, or even just the hum of a neighbor’s TV—helping me sleep anywhere.

28. Magnetic Hat Clip
I’m a total hat girl. Never travel without one.
This little gadget is genius. I use it to clip my hat to my bag when I’m not wearing it, and it saves me from either crushing it in my suitcase or wearing it through the airport.

29. Birdie Safety Alarm
Being female and solo traveling a lot, safety is always at the forefront of my mind.
My mom actually gifted me this one for Christmas, and I can’t tell you how much more peace of mind I have now while traveling. It’s small, clips to my purse, and just feels good to have just in case I ever need it.
And believe me, it’ll scare any perp away and definitely grab attention!
30. Compression Packing Cubes
I don’t think I could travel without these anymore. Honestly, I don’t know why anyone would?
They make packing so much easier, keep everything organized, and the compression means I can fit way more than I should.
I even finally got my husband on the packing cubes team now!

31. Sand Free Towel
This towel has come with me on so many trips—beaches, hikes, boat days, you name it. If there’s even a chance of swimming, paddleboarding, or just lounging near the water, this is one of the first things I toss in my bag.
It dries super fast, doesn’t trap sand (a major win), and folds down really small, so it’s easy to carry around in a day pack without taking up much space.
It’s one of those things that seems simple, but ends up being incredibly useful on all kinds of trips. I genuinely think every traveler should have one—and if you gift it, they’ll probably end up packing it every time, just like I do.
That’s a Wrap
Finding the right present doesn’t have to be stressful, and I hope this list of gift ideas for travelers gave you plenty of inspiration. These are all items I’ve personally used, loved, and would be excited to unwrap myself—so you can feel confident gifting them too.
Travelers don’t need more “stuff,” they need things that make their journeys easier, more comfortable, or a little more fun. That’s exactly why I picked these favorites, and why I think they’ll be appreciated long after the wrapping paper is gone.
One Last Thing…
Yes, most of these gifts are geared toward women travelers (since, well, I am one)—but if you’re shopping for the male traveler in your life, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered there, too.
